Forestry mulcher working through brush on Arkansas property

The land around Beaver Lake is some of the prettiest in Arkansas, and some of the hardest to clear: steep Ozark hollows, rock everywhere, and oak, hickory and cedar so thick you can't see the lake from a lot that's 300 yards from it. We clear homesites, views, driveways and trails from Rogers and Lowell out to Garfield and Eureka Springs.

Common Beaver Lake Clearing Jobs

Why Mulching Fits Steep Lake Property

Bulldozing a hillside above the lake scrapes off the topsoil and leaves ruts and burn piles. Forestry mulching grinds brush and small trees in place and leaves a mulch layer on the ground. On slopes, that layer slows runoff and helps keep soil on your property instead of in the lake. It also means no burning, which matters during dry-season burn bans.

Corps of Engineers Land on Beaver Lake

Beaver Lake is a Corps of Engineers lake, and the Corps owns a band of public land around much of the shoreline. Owning the lot behind it doesn't give you the right to clear it. Federal rules (36 CFR 327.30) require a shoreline use permit for private vegetation modification on Corps public land, and it's only allowed in certain shoreline areas. The Beaver Lake project office in Rogers can tell you what applies to your frontage. The rule itself is on eCFR.

Our approach: we clear your deeded land. If you have a Corps permit for vegetation work, we follow it exactly. When in doubt, we stop at the line on your survey.

What It Costs

Beaver Lake property is usually steep and rocky, so plan on the higher end of our ranges. Small jobs start at $2,500 (one machine day). Typical 2โ€“5 acre wooded tracts run $4,500โ€“$12,000, and heavy timber on steep ground is $12,000+. Run your numbers in the instant price calculator, then we'll walk it for free and give you one flat price.

Rogers is about 45 miles from our Stilwell base, inside our no-transport-fee area. Eureka Springs is about 65 miles, just outside it, so a small transport charge applies and we'll tell you the amount before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I clear trees between my house and Beaver Lake?

Only on your own land without a permit. The shoreline band around Beaver Lake is largely Corps of Engineers public land, and private vegetation work there requires a Corps shoreline use permit.

How much does it cost to clear wooded property near Beaver Lake?

Small jobs start at $2,500. Typical 2โ€“5 acre wooded tracts run $4,500โ€“$12,000, and steep, heavily timbered ground runs $12,000 or more. We quote one flat price after a free site walk.

Do you serve Eureka Springs?

Yes. Eureka Springs is about 65 miles from our base, just outside our 60-mile no-fee area, so a small transport charge applies. We give you that number up front.

Is forestry mulching safe for steep lake lots?

It's usually the better choice. Mulching leaves roots and a mulch layer that help hold soil on slopes, unlike dozer clearing that scrapes the ground bare.
